Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
Looking for the very worst restaurant in the history of restaurants on this planet and beyond? Do you crave to be ignored by your (possibly mildly retarded) waitress? Enjoy waiting for over an hour for your cold and sub-standard food? Feel satisfied when the owner of the worst restaurant on the planet actually has the balls to chastise you for complaining about the worst dining experience of your life. Well look no further than Charlie’s restaurant right here in Port Moody. A restaurant to be avoided at all costs. In fact, don’t even look at it as you drive by. It’s for your own good.
I won’t bore you with details about the absolutely tragic dining experience we had, about the extremely bad service, extraordinarily bad food or the feeling of dining in a restaurant with the ambiance of a Thai prison. Nope, none of that. I’ll just tell you to avoid this dump, save your money and go to a restaurant that offers decent food and reasonable value for your hard earned dollar.
The thing that really gets me is the lack of some business owner’s understanding when it comes to customer service. When will these idiots get it? They just can’t expect their customers to put up with their lack of business savvy and act completely surprised when we don’t like their food, service or restaurant. The owner (yes…he was the owner. we asked!) appeared to be genuinely shocked when we told him the food was poor and the service was horrendous (I’m still not convinced our waitress actually WORKED in the restaurant. My theory is she was an unemployed baby sitter called to action when the REAL waitress didn’t show up for work. This woman knew absolutely nothing about the basic needs of diners and appeared to be orbiting in a completely different solar system).
Our experience in this restaurant was so horrible that it actually defies belief and I can honestly say that it’s one of, if not the very worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The bottom line is…avoid this place.
I recently received the card in the mail from Charlies. I gather it is the same outfit that was operating as a Mexican restaurant in the pub on St John’s street. I went there years ago and thought it was the worst Mexican food I had ever had, much worse than typical street food in Mexico (which can actually be quite good) that is to say, the quality of food was lower than the cheapest lunch counter food in small town Mexico. I had thought when I got the card that I might give it another try. Thanks for the review, I won’t waste my money, sorry you had to.
