People
Well it looks like Constance Barnes is back to work at The Vancouver Parks Board despite pleading guilty to drunk-driving and dangerous-driving charges. Yes folks, you too can drive you car into a house with a blood alcohol level of 0.210 and still retain your cushy city job on the Parks Board. You can even have a history of drunk driving that put one person in a wheelchair for life and resulted in a father's bankruptcy due to the resulting lawsuit. Life is good for Ms. Barnes isn't it? During her court appearance on Thursday Barnes apologized to homeowner Lim Lee and his family who live in the house struck by her car. The victim however is still having 'nightmares' about seeing her car veering toward his front door. I'm…

Yes, that's right...he's not going to be punished for this...at all...ever. It's mind boggling to say the least but it all boils down to proving how long the children were suffering in the vehicle. Abbotsford Police Department information officer Const. Ian MacDonald advised "As a result of this investigation and through consultation with Crown Counsel, the Abbotsford Police Deparrtment will not be recommending charges against any person involved in this incident. I emphasize (the charge) has to be based on a solid timeline, so we couldn't go forward.…

End of the line?

Life in Port Moody
Woohoo! It looks like the awful truth is finally sinking in and Port Moody City Council has accepted the fact that the much ballyhooed Evergreen Line may not materialize as promised. Council is considering restricting growth along the proposed line fearing the light rail won't be built for quite some time. Mayor Trasolini was quoted in The Vancouver Sun today saying "The OCP has to reflect the fact that we can't keep growing. The population in the last 15 years has doubled...we're being criticized for growing too much without infrastructure in place." Well DUH! I've been saying that since all the new building started along Murray...Suter Brook, Klahanie etc. We still have only two ways in or out of our city and there's far too many people living in our…
