After reviewing my last posts meager list I realized I hadn't discussed some other great iPhone apps that make my life complete. Needless to say there's thousands and thousands of apps available for download and a lot of them are complete shit but those I list here are the ones I think do the job better than most. Finding quality iPhone apps is a bit tougher for us long suffering Canadians. The Americans won't let us play with some of the choice offerings such as Google Voice (make free phone calls on your phone and avoid paying the greedy phone company) or the highly anticipated Ellen DeGeneres app. OK...well maybe the Ellen app is a bit of a stretch but don't we all wonder what famous lesbians do all day? Have a look at the animated image below. It's one of those funny animated gifs that made it's way around the internet via email and web sites four or five years ago (6,322 Internet years). It appears that the viewer is downloading the entire Internet within a single zip file and states that only 14kb of 23,993,564,998mb (that's all??) have been copied at 41.2kb/Sec. It prompts for a new disc (remember those?) to be inserted in drive A (remember drive A?) because disc C is full. Scary shit. Not. You may have received the 'prescription drugs' email from a friend or co-worker that outlines drug price discrepancies from one pharmacy to another. I tend to ignore those type of emails as a general rule but I had occasion to test the accuracy of the viral email's claims recently and thought I'd post my findings. The email in question was titled 'Costco Prescriptions' and included a variety of prescription drugs with consumer pricing, cost of active ingredient and percentage of markup.
