A few thoughts on today's news pulled straight out of The Province: - The front page of today's Province newspaper proclaims "Female Killer Imprisoned In Man's Body - Katherine Johnson wants her johnson gone - because that's the only way she'll be allowed to transfer to a woman's prison". Yes, they actually refered to his johnson on the front page of a major metropolitan newspaper. An interesting headline to say the least. The story details the 'plight' of Katherine Johnson, a 61 year old wanker who murdered his roommate with a baseball bat and languishes in the Matsqui Prison in Abbotsford. He wants to complete his sex-change operation and have it paid for by Corrections Canada which is perfectly within his rights. Right? Well, good luck with that chump. I…

My Healthcare Solution

Observations
So here's my solution to our present healthcare funding issues. Forget taxes! Forget the Government! Let's get advertisers into our hospitals! Imagine having your gall bladder surgery sponsered by Pepsi or a vasectomy sponsered by Save-On Foods. It's so simple it's scary. Everything else is sponsered...the fireworks, the olympics, the Santa Claus parade so why not move those eager advertisers into our hospitals? They could plaster their logos and slogans on everything from bandaids to leg braces, surgical gowns to catheter bags. The possitilites are limitless. The idea sounds silly but I can't think of a good reason why it wouldn't actually work. Advertising is everywhere including above urinals, in movie theatres (my pet peeve), on hats, tshirts, pants, shoes, gloves, scarves, glasses....well you get the idea. So why not…

Unhealthy healthcare

The NDP have leaked the Liberal government's plans for our beleaguered health care system and it ain't pretty. The proposed reductions, according to today's Province newspaper are; - 5800 postponed surgeries - 13.5 closed operating rooms - 112 jobs cut - 13 anesthesia positions eliminated - $90 million in total cuts over the next seven months Disgusting to say the least. But we can always scrape up $1 billion dollars for the Olympics security bill, right? Of course. How about raises for the politician pinheads that come up with this crap. Righto! And to top it all off how about adding additional tax to everything under the sun by introducing the HST? Brilliant.
