Björk from Ork

Entertainment, Internet, Music, Technology
She's a bit wacky, a bit odd, and can sound like a scalded cat but Björk is anything but dull. I find her public persona a bit annoying and far too artsy-fartsy for my tastes but appreciate her talent and eclectic music sense. She's innovative and usually comes up with something that sounds little or nothing like anything else available. And that's a good thing in the midst of the bland, boring and predictable (yes, even YOU Gaga!) crap being spoon-fed to our young. A case in point is her newest music online offering which combines a cool iPad/iPhone app with her latest CD (does anyone even buy CDs anymore?). She's rolled the two into something called Biophilia which is available free from the App Store. Here's how Apple describes…

The World’s Smartest Man?

Entertainment, Health, Observations, Of Interest, People
Baba Dez practices Sex Magic, which is various types of sexual activity used in magical, religious, ritualistic or spiritual pursuits. Ya gotta love the guy. We recently subscribed to Netflix and have been enjoying a number of documentaries I would never have discovered otherwise. One of those documentaries is Sex Magic, a highly amusing romp through the life of Baba Dez, a polyamorous, sacred sexual healer. He practices his brand of sexual…

Even his collaborations with David Bowie (during their drug addictions and subsequent attempts to quit) left me wondering what The Thin White Duke was thinking. What the hell did anyone see in Iggy Pop? That question was once again front and centre during Mr. Pop's recent appearance on American Idol. Yup...that's right. The 62 year-old punk rocker performed on a recent show and left us all thinking that the American Idol producers had lost their collective minds. Here's a shirtless, creepy looking flashback to the 70's flinging himself around the stage while attempting to sing 'I'm A Wild One' while showing us all how cruel age can…
