Save Ema

Of Interest
Our neighbour recently lost his sister and was left with Ema, a cute Jack Russell Terrier. Due to lifestyle contraints our neighbour can't keep Ema and has tried to find a good home with no luck. Ema is elderly and a bit deaf but still full of life and deserves a chance to make someone else happy. She will be euthanized today, July 29 at 3:30pm unless someone comes forward and offers their home to her so she can live her full life and come to an end naturally. My wife and I would take her but our dog wouldn't be terribly cooperative and we think Ema deserves to live out her life rather than dying because no one will take care of her. If you or someone you know…

A Salty Situation

Of Interest
Denny's Restaurants is being sued by a New Jersey resident and a nonprofit consumer group claiming that many of the chain's meals contain more than a day's worth of sodium. One of the main meals in questions is the 'Meat Lover's Scramble' which contains cheese, eggs, bacon, diced ham and sausage, and comes with more meat on the side as well as hash browns and pancakes. Wouldn't the average consumer know that a meal that contains as much processed meat, cheese and…

The front page of The Province showed an 81 year old man in his scooter waving his custom criminal bashing club which he recently used to thwart an aggressive panhandler. But the most interesting item in the article was a reference to former criminal William Huntley (pictured here), a 30 year Abbotsford resident who has been 'clean' for two and a half years and ..."sees that the town is troubled". Big deal. This guy is quoted as saying "It's still a nice town but yeah, it's getting a little out of hand. A lot of it is the big drug influence. Speed has hit this…

Life got in the way

Observations
I haven't posted a thing for a few weeks and for that I apologize to those who take the time to read my meanderings on a regular or semi-regular basis. The concept of blogging requires daily attention and should offer something for visitors to make the daily, weekly or monthly trip and shouldn't offer old posts and dead air. For that I apologize but life, unfortunately has a way of getting in the way and demanding our attention no matter which responsibilities we perceive as important. I'm back and will do my best to offer a daily tidbit for your enjoyment. Thanks for returning in spite of my absence.
