Why would a young couple, after caring for a 32 year-old horse in declining health, euthanize the animal, gut it and climb inside the carcass? No, I'm serious. Jasha Lottin and her boyfriend John Frost of Oregon cared for the horse but decided to end its life with a single shot from a large calibre rifle which they maintain was performed humanely and only because the animal was suffering. But gutting the animal, climbing inside its carcass to pose for photos and then butchering and eating it is beyond bizarre to say the least. After posting the photos online (yeah...they really did!) they suffered relentless backlash from animal lovers worldwide including the standard threats of death and eternal damnation. Rainn Wilson of tv's The Office is a dick. Not because of his deadpan portrayal of Dwight Schrute, but because he was caught abusing twitter. (Get your mind out of the gutter...I'm talking about the Internet service.) We all know twitter is the annoying 140-character method people use to let other people know exactly what they're doing between bowel movements and has been heartily embraced by celebrities around the world. Something that many celebrity followers may not be aware of is that some of their idols are sending tweets promoting products and services and are being paid the big bucks by sponsors to do it. Municipal elections almost upon us and once again we pick the people that will guide the future of our respectives home towns. And in every November 19th vote lies the danger of electing the wrong people for the job. We've done it before and we'll probably do it again. Take my home town for example. Port Moody is a quaint little town, part of the tri-cities which includes Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam. It was quiet and uncongested until our city council decided to award building permits to every schmoe that held out their hands. Here's this month's Car Accident which actually happened in September but I thought I'd save it for October as it was only a day or two after the first one. The bonehead on the motorbike shot by us doing twice the speed limit on Murray Street as we were on our way home from work, leaving us in his exhaust as he rounded the turn on to Ioco Road in Port Moody. A minute or two later we rounded the same corner and came across the scene shown in the photos below. It appears Speed Racer was travelling so fast that he couldn't stop when the driver ahead applied their brakes and stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk. How dare they!
