Another Killer Set Free

Darnell Pratt will be released from prison in June after serving less than five years of a nine year sentence for killing Grant De Patie. Mr. Pratt was caught stealing gas in a stolen Chrysler LeBaron and Grant, an employee at the Esso station, attempted to stop his car from leaving the lot. Grant was run down by Pratt and dragged to his death beneath the stolen vehicle. According to a friend of Pratt's to whom he confided after the murder, he was fully aware there was a body under the car as he sped away and heard Grant's screams as he was being dragged to his death. We received a phone call from The City of Port Moody regarding our complaint about the neighbour's dog and it appears they've officially deemed it aggressive. This results in an increased annual dog license fee and a requirement that the dog be muzzled when in any public area. I don't believe the dog is actually aggressive but rather it just doesn't like my dog and my dog doesn't like it. This does, however, force them to leash their pet and ensures we don't have a repeat performance. And if we do then things will become considerably more uncomfortable to our neighbourhood a-holes. Well, the neighbourhood a-holes signed for and received the registered letter we sent containing a copy of the vet bill and note advising we will take them to court if they don't pay the bill. And what did they do? Nothing. But then again, what would one expect from a-holes? We got a call from the city regarding our original complaint and were advised that the assholes denied our dog was even injured during the altercation. So what's with the gash on his head...canine cranial stigmata? I'm absolutely staggered that two grown adults would act like such selfish, childish twats and ensure that they'll be reviled by residents for the rest of their days living in this neighbourhood. Is it really worth $252.00 to be at odds with your neighbour?…

Irresponsible A-holes

It's well known that some dogs just don't like other dogs. Our dog Benjamin and a neighbour's dog just a block away don't like each other for some unknown reason and waste no time barking and posturing whenever they meet. They've had 3 run-ins over the years and we keep Benjamin on a leash at all times on his walks primarily because of this dog, however our neighbours are not nearly as responsible. My wife was out with Benjamin shortly after Canada's gold medal hockey win (Go Canada!) when they came across his arch enemy out for a walk with his owners on the trail behind our home. They didn't have their dog leashed and, ignoring their useless and feeble "Stop" and "Sit" commands, he charged our dog and latched…
