Final Update

Life in Port Moody, People, Rants
We received a phone call from The City of Port Moody regarding our complaint about the neighbour's dog and it appears they've officially deemed it aggressive. This results in an increased annual dog license fee and a requirement that the dog be muzzled when in any public area. I don't believe the dog is actually aggressive but rather it just doesn't like my dog and my dog doesn't like it. This does, however, force them to leash their pet and ensures we don't have a repeat performance. And if we do then things will become considerably more uncomfortable to our neighbourhood a-holes. Update #2

Life in Port Moody, People, Rants

And what did they do? Nothing. But then again, what would one expect from a-holes? We got a call from the city regarding our original complaint and were advised that the assholes denied our dog was even injured during the altercation. So what's with the gash on his head...canine cranial stigmata? Update #1

Life in Port Moody, Of Interest
After the recent attack on Benjamin by a neighbour's unleashed dog and their refusal to pay the resulting vet bill, we've officially initiated Operation A-Hole: Step One - Submitted a statement to the city outlining the event in detail and supplying a photo of poor Benjamin's injuries. The city can deem their dog 'aggressive' which would increase their annual license fee. Step Two - Sent the vet bill via registered mail to the A-holes with a cover letter stating that we would wait 7 days for payment after which we would initiate a claim in court. We intend to ramp it up and drag them into court if they don't respond to our registered letter and pay the vet bill. But will they leash their dog in the future? Who…

The Port Moody Nerd Park

Life in Port Moody, Observations
According to the Tri-City News, Port Moody is close to signing a partnership agreement with a city in China as it moves ahead with plans for a high-technology business park. The agreement with Tianjin, Port Moody's sister city near Beijing is to provide our city with information as local officials and business people create a proposal for the high-tech park. What does Tianjin know that we don't? Well they have a few of these parks of their own and they will "...show us how to get started and the difficulties they encontered because we don't want to repeat their mistakes." according to Mayor Joe Trasolini. "We want to be coached" he said. Fair enough but don't our American friends down south in Silicon Valley know a bit about this stuff?…
