Horrifying Gnesa

Horrifying Gnesa

Music, People
NYC songstress Gnesa is using the Internet to make us sick. Sick of extremely talentless bimbos shaking their floppy boobs, stopping short of revealing a nasty gunt while screeching and squawking over revolting techno background music. Gnesa (really?...Gnesa?!?) has pushed the limits of human endurance with the horrifying pieces of aural excrement she calls music. Click the play button if you dare and prepare to shit out your own internal organs as your body does everything it can to stop the noise. Gnesa provides us with a logical reason for suicide. And murder.

CKLG Top 30 Lists Circa 1973

Music
Remember 1973? If you're in your late forties or fifties and lived on the west coast, you probably listened to CKLG 73 AM Radio. It was the top purveyor of pop music in Vancouver, Victoria and anywhere else its signal would reach, pumping all the schmaltzy hits of the day into our homes, cars and transistor radios. I was an avid listener to CKLG in the early 70's and collected their top 30 lists in Victoria, distributed through F.W. Woolworth Co Limited at 1200 Douglas Street or Kelly Deyong Sound Corp. Ltd at 646 Yates Street. Both businesses are long gone but those brightly coloured little top 30 lists have been socked away in a box since I was a kid. I have a total of 25 lists and scanned…

A Very Good Place

Animals
“You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals.” ― Paul McCartney There's a very good place in Mission, B.C. called SAINTS, a beautiful place for senior and special needs animals that takes care of the animals no one seems to want. Those in their advanced years, crippled, abused or suffering from mental issues. These are the animals nobody wants but SAINTS ensure they enjoy a full and healthy life, revelling in the things our pets take for granted such as shelter, food and most of all, love. From their website: SAINTS was started in December 2004 after volunteers at other animal shelters saw many senior animals spending their last days in a shelter or pound. From the time we opened our doors, the…

The wonderful world of podcasting

The wonderful world of podcasting

Entertainment, Internet, Of Interest, Technology
My time was my own. I had the freedom to spend leisurely hours after work and on the weekends doing what I wanted to do, some gardening, some home maintenance, dinner with friends. Life was good. Too good. I decided to change that by starting a podcast network. I've always been interested in podcasting and experimented with a lame attempt right here on AprilRoad.com a few years ago. They sucked. I was more enthralled with the technology than the content and the listener metrics told the sad story. The story was that my audio offerings were, in food parlance, small bits of 3-day-old overly-salted gristly meat, appealing to absolutely no one on this planet or any other planet in this universe or beyond. So I quit. But a few years…
